Dr. Premkumar Borugadda is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Limassol, Cyprus. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) from Pondicherry University (A Central University), India, where his research focused on developing a novel multi-level dimensional reduction approach for tomato plant leaf disease classification using transfer learning with the VGG16 model. He has previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at SRM University-AP, India, and as an Assistant Professor at reputed institutions including Ashoka School of Business, Hyderabad, and Bapatla Engineering College,Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. Borugadda’s research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision, with special emphasis on AI applications in food science, agriculture, and healthcare. He has published numerous research articles in SCOPUS and Web of Science–indexed journals, including Journal of Future Foods (Q1) and Pertanika Journal of Science & Technology. His work has also appeared in IEEE and Springer conference proceedings, and he holds a patent on tomato flaw detection using ensemble learning techniques. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Borugadda has authored and co-edited books and book chapters in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, including “Advanced Machine Learning Applications Using Python Programming” (Pandit Publications, 2022). He is also an editor of the book series “Futuristic Trends in Artificial Intelligence” and serves as a reviewer for several IEEE and SCOPUS-indexed international conferences. Dr. Borugadda is a YouTuber and educator, managing the channel “Machine Learning Lectures for Beginners”, where he provides practical lessons on AI, ML, and Python programming.
